RESTORATIONS

Many of the old wooden hydroplanes from the glory days of racing are gone, left to rot in fields or barns after their racing days were over. Many still exist, but need restoration before they can run on the American Power Boat Association Vintage and Historic Division's ever-growing circuit of exhibitions at speed.

  Lauterbach Custom Boats prides itself in the restorations that have been done on old Lauterbach race boats and those from other quality builders. Often boats that are 50+ years old can be restored to look like the day they were built. All phases of restoration take place at the Lauterbach Custom Boats facility. Missing pieces of hardware can often be remade, and the Lauterbach Custom Boats' extensive knowledge of all classes of old race boats enables hydroplanes to be reborn.
